Baby shower

My sweet friends Rachel and Tisha threw me a baby shower. It was so fun and they had my favorite things...chocolate chip cookies and mint brownies! I have never bought anything new for my babies as far as furniture goes and this is my last baby. I really wanted to buy something new and I needed a dresser. I found a super cute dresser and crib set at Target awhile back. I was able to use the money from the group gift to help buy the dresser. I love it! It's solid and took while to put together but it looks so great. Especially in our room in what has been known as "Caroline's corner". I also got some other great gifts like a monkey business gift card, cute bows, outfits, teething necklaces, freezer meals and my favorite was a small soft blanket Tina made. I seriously have the best friends a girl could ask for! It's also not a bad deal that our kids a like each other too! 

Graduate

Addison graduated from preschool on May 15, 2015. She attended Paul Derda Rec Center preschool with her buddy Merrick. She enjoyed going to preschool but is super excited about going to kindergarten next year. We decided to put her in full day for a couple of reasons.

1. That girl needs something to do and I am not always the best at helping her with that. I don't know how life will be with a new baby in the fall and 3 pickup/drop-offs is a lot.
2. The all day teacher Ms. Robbins is amazing and I think Addison will do well.
3. Brin is in 5th grade, Matt in 3rd and Addi in K. Three kids in one school...this wont happen again. 4. She is older for her grade. She missed the Colorado cut off by 5 days so she will be 6 yrs old for most of kindergarten.

NEXT week...

I can't believe we are having a baby next week! Nor can I believe it's the middle of May. Where has this year gone?!? I still need to put all the baby clothes away and get organized and probably pack a hospital bag...I have done a lot of other organizing especially in the basement. I am caught up in our budget and bills and thank goodness I am not managing our properties!! I don't know if I am ready for summer...excited to chill and sleep in but I want to keep my kids on a good schedule and have them keep up their reading and learning. And NOT ask to play my phone every other minute. 
But also not quite sure how I will do with a newborn or 5 kids. I have gotten quite used to no naps or diapers! 9 days ago it was Mother's Day...that seems like just yesterday. 

Mother's Day

I have the best Mom in the whole world. She is everything I am not...kind, patient, loving and would do anything for her kids or grandkids like make them pancakes and buttermilk syrup EVERYDAY! My Grandma's are amazing too. I am particularly close to my Grandma Gale who lived across the street from me growing up. I talk to her several times a week and she is the most kind, giving, and amazing woman. She has been sick or in pain since January and its been hard to watch her be miserable. She really is one of my best friends. She is the reason we are naming baby #5 Caroline after my Grandma Carol.

I have such an amazing legacy of mothers in my history so I am wondering why I suck so bad at it. I dont want to throw myself a pity party or anything but this mother's day kinda sucked. Addison broke the video camera when she spilled her gatorade in the soccer bag. Brian wiped it off but nothing more and now the screen wont work. I NEED a video camera for when this baby is born. A new one is $300-500. The same video camera we only spend $175 on 4 years ago is double that now. I want to get the same one because I like it and I already have the program all set up on my computer to download the files and make a DVD. My kids pretty much fought and whined all morning and Brian took a nap while I got the girls ready for church. By now I am about to have a nervous breakdown. I am probably overly emotionally with pregnancy hormones and delivery just 19 days away.

I love Salmon and we went to Costco last night just to get some for dinner. I had forgotten that I ran out of lemon pepper and had to use a different brand which was disgusting. I also forgot to buy chocolate chips and so the molten lava cakes I made were terrible! I was so looking forward to the oozing hot melted chocolate.... We did family night and it drug on forever. Kids got to bed late. And I have asked the little girls to not play  in-between their window and their bed frame multiple times and I busted them back there well after bedtime.

Oh and Macie stole a pez dispenser from Hobby Lobby, Matt stole an Adidas jacket from the lost and found, and Addison stole 2 crayons and a bouncy ball from the treasure box at school and then lied about it. I have found all my kids playing electronics without asking. Matt stole my old phone and then lied about it and Addison got my iPhone from my not so secret anymore hiding place and was watching PBS until 10pm! So pretty much being a mom kinda sucks. I am grateful for my kids and I love each one of them A LOT. And this mothering business is a lot of work. I am exhausted and I am about to have baby #5. Heaven help me!

Where has this past school year gone?!? Seriously, it was just Halloween... May is proving to be just as crazy as usual. Next week I have something every morning, afternoon and evening. The next week clears up so I am hoping to really get ready for this baby to come. I have been waiting to buy a dresser to put all her clothes and stuff in. She will sleep in our room for awhile. It was about a year with my other kids but we may be able to rearrange some kids or have the baby sleep with Brinley. Brinley really wants her to but I am not sure she fully understands what that means. I am nervous for summer. I am excited to not have a schedule but I have completely forgotten what it's like to have a newborn, nursing every couple of hours and changing diapers all the time! Car seats, diaper bags, blowouts, oh my!! 

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day was pretty uneventful since Brian and the older two kids were in Utah for his Dad's sealing. We had lots of fun attempting to do heart hairstyles. The best part of Valentines Day is getting a Kara's mint chocolate heart with my name on it from my Grandma Gale. She buys them every year for all her grandkids and I look forward to it all year long.
